According to an article written by Emily Brandon for U.S. News: “There is no clearly defined age when an American becomes a senior citizen. Some people might consider themselves seniors when they are invited to join AARP, qualify for Medicare, or officially retire from the workplace. Some 96 percent of current 50-year-olds don’t consider themselves senior citizens and only slightly over half (56 percent) of 64-year-olds say the term senior citizen applies to them.” Sounds like a good topic for discussion at one of our meetings!

What is a Senior Café? A place to gather and socialize for older folks from Northwood and surrounding towns. (We're handicap accessible so don't let that stop you from joining us.)
Caretakers are welcome to stay with seniors for the café but can also enjoy some time away on their own if appropriate. Please call the library at 603-942-5472 if you would like more information.

Mr. Richard Levergood and his student assistant came us on Monday, April 25th, at Senior Cafe to give us a practical display of a Martian landscape. Even better, visitors had the opportunity to pilot a radio-controlled robot over the artificial world!
