The Library celebrated Earth Day! We let patrons plant a flower on Thursday, April 22, at 3:00 p.m. to celebrate Earth Day.

Participants met us at the picnic table outside, weather permitting. Masks were required, hand sanitizer was available, and we followed social distancing guidelines.

The weather did not cooperate for a program, but we still had some come to participate.

Robertson Sugar House - Saturday, March 27th

The start of the maple sugaring season signals the welcome arrival of spring. The nights are still cold, but the days warm up and sap begins to flow through the sugar maple trees.

The Chesley Memorial Library hosted a Maple Sugar Tour at the Robertson Sugar House on Saturday, March 27, at 10:00 a.m. Children and their families learned about the maple sugaring process from Robbie and Sue Robertson.

The Chesley Memorial Library was able to offer the Maple Sugar Tour through a recurring grant from the Robert C. Grano Charitable Fund to commemorate the 100th anniversary of his father’s immigration to the United States on October 28, 1920.

“Joseph Grano Children’s Initiative” programs promote exploration of the natural world, music, art, diverse cultures, adventure travel, and craftsmanship.

FIELD DAY

On July 13, 2021, Chesley Memorial Library hosted a Field Day. Our young readers had a blast playing Disc Golf with Dan Bunker and participating in our Spelling Challenge with Gigantagrams coordinated by Donna and Kate.

LIONS AND TIGERS AND BEARS... OH MY!!!
July 21, 2021, young readers were encouraged to come in for our Wild Stuffy Adoption event. They were able to adopt their favorite animals and received certificates of adoption after each animal got a clean bill of health from our Stuffy Veterinarian, Kate!

Molly's Girl Scout Gold Award Project

Picture
Meet Molly Ewing, a Senior at Coe Brown and a Girl Scout Ambassador.
"For my Girl Scout Gold Award project I wanted to focus on local New Hampshire non-profits that are helping the communities thrive everyday. My podcast series focuses on spreading awareness through the community about these non-profit organizations. Each episode I interview representatives from that organization to learn about how they are helping the community, the challenges they face and the funding aspects of the organization."
