Mary poppins
Kids, Did You Come and meet "Mary Poppins" in person?

Mary Poppins (aka Linda Peck) visited the Chesley Memorial Library with her carpet bag full of hats, scarves, umbrellas that fly, a giant hat rack, and more, she told magical stories that delighted the audience members of all ages.

As all grownups know Mary hails from London, England, where she worked as a Nanny for Mr. & Mrs. Banks. Her charges Jane and Michael, delightful children you know, simply materialized from the audience that gathered around her.

Mary kept us all entertained not only with her fine English accent and very odd dress but with a carpetbag full of magic tricks done with balloons, peacock feathers, carousel-balancing wheels, feather dusters, dishes and more.

Funding for the Kids, Books, and the Arts event is provided by the Jack and Dorothy Byrne Foundation, CHILIS, Cogswell Benevolent Trust, and is supported in part by a grant from the NH State Council on the Arts and the National Endowment for the Arts as well as funds administered by the NH State Library and provided by the Institute of Museum and Library Services.

Diane and Donna ran the Craft Table and had a blast crafting with the kids.
